Water purification calculator
If the water supply fails or the source is suspect, there are two proven ways: boiling or chlorine disinfection. With both, the ratio and the time are what count, and these are exactly what people get wrong from memory. Enter how much water you want to treat, and it tells you the exact amount.
The calculation is based on the ratios widely used in Hungarian practice. Filter cloudy water first, because the chlorine gets used up on suspended particles. If the water may have been in contact with sewage, boiling is the safer option.
